Acceptable use policy
1. The principle
TypeNot exists so you can speak instead of type. Use it lawfully, respect other people, and don't abuse the platform. This policy explains what that means in practice. Capitalized terms have the meaning given in the terms of service.
2. Recording other people
TypeNot is a dictation tool for your own voice. If you use it in situations where other people can be heard — meetings, calls, conversations — you are responsible for complying with the recording and wiretapping laws that apply to you. Many jurisdictions require the consent of some or all participants before recording a conversation. Obtain any required consent before you dictate in the presence of others, and do not use the Service to record people secretly.
3. Prohibited content
Do not use the Service to create, store or distribute content that:
- is illegal under applicable law;
- sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way — this is reported to the relevant authorities without exception;
- constitutes targeted harassment, credible threats of violence, or incitement to violence;
- infringes intellectual property or trade secrets of others;
- contains malware or is used to coordinate attacks on systems or people.
Your library is private and we do not proactively read it. This section applies when content is shared through the Service, made public, or brought to our attention through legal process or abuse reports.
4. Platform abuse
You must not:
- circumvent quotas, rate limits or plan restrictions, or share one account across many people;
- access the Service through automated means not provided by us, scrape our APIs, or use the AI endpoints for bulk processing unrelated to dictation;
- attempt to extract, replicate or distill the AI models behind the Service;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us;
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service except as described in Section 5;
- interfere with other users' use of the Service.
5. Security research
We welcome good-faith security research. Report vulnerabilities to support@typenot.app. Act in good faith: no accessing other users' data, no service disruption, no public disclosure before we have had a reasonable opportunity to fix the issue. We will not pursue legal action against good-faith research conducted within these rules.
6. Enforcement
When this policy is violated we act proportionally:
- Warning — for minor, first-time issues we contact you and ask you to stop;
- Suspension — for repeated or serious issues we may temporarily suspend cloud features or the account;
- Termination — for grave violations (Section 3) or persistent abuse we may terminate the account.
Where the violation is unlawful, we may also notify authorities. If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, write to support@typenot.app within 30 days and a human will review it.
